John McLaughlin is the President of McLaughlin Business Enterprises. He conducts feasibility studies, provides financial analysis, market research, facilitation, strategic planning and other management consulting services. Mr. McLaughlin transitioned to self-employment in 2007 after 30+ years of professional experience in both the public and private sector, in a wide variety of analytical and management roles. He is an accomplished speaker and facilitator, having made numerous presentations at local, national and international professional conferences. As John states: “Many of us have attended wonderful strategic planning retreats, come home pumped up and then the momentum fizzles.” Not this time! John holds a B.Sc. from the University of Ottawa and a Master’s in Environmental Design from the University of Calgary. He is a certified
Alberta Community Planner (ACP) and a Certified Facility Manager (CFM). John also
has formal training and experience as a facilitator and adult education instructor. A lifelong learner, John has completed over 800 hours of training in planning, quality, facilities, economics, systems, facilitation, commercial realty, project management, financial analysis, and lateral thinking. John has published extensively on environmental, urban and environmental planning subjects.
