Joan Marie Galat knows from experience, sometimes we lose our way.

At some point it happens to all of us. Experts say one in five will suffer from an episode of depression. Of course, you don't have to be down to find it constructive, at least once in a while, to Give Yourself a Pep Talk.

Have you taken a risk that didn't pay off? Are you struggling to overcome a life crisis? More commonly, are you striving for life-work balance? No matter the personal challenge, you may occasionally feel like your ability to function your best is slipping away. You may even find you're becoming immobilized. When feelings of being frustrated, burdened, or overwhelmed grow, discouragement builds and your self-esteem can take an extended holiday.

Give Yourself a Pep Talk is a powerful keynote address that inspires you to manage stress, maintain a positive outlook, and find the strength to endure problems that feel insurmountable. This presentation offers strategies to explore emotional honesty and gain acceptance of the things you cannot change. It builds on identity, clarifies perceptions, and allows you to live conscientiously and with hope—today and tomorrow. Using powerful personal anecdotes, Joan delivers reasons for optimism, along with potent new perspectives you can apply to individual difficulties. Constructive self-talk is just one of the important counters she offers to manage dejection and feelings of being disheartened, despondent or just plain glum.

Audience members gain achievable suggestions for self-improvement and practical strategies for coping with something that may not come naturally—the ability to cope with unsolved problems. The result will help participants move away from frustration and toward emotional health to lead more meaningful and productive lives.

This keynote is based on Joan's book, Give Yourself a Pep Talk.
